NeuroCognition is the combination of the physiological structures & cognitive functions of the Brain. It defines how we understand behaviors & actions through the lens of Brain physiology.
Martial arts are at the forefront of complex movement & associated therapies, with research investigating them for mental health, academic achievement, & rehabilitation outcomes. This program applies concepts from neuroplasticity research & embodied cognition specifically to martial arts training. We will facilitate active practice of martial techniques & discuss assessment tools to evaluate each person's needs & progress.
Learn the importance of transfer effect, regression & progression.
Suggest & discuss specific martial arts exercises which are easy to progress & regress to manipulate cognitive load.
Demonstrate the application of these concepts to techniques & drills which can be practiced immediately.
Build concrete skills for enhancing fluid intelligence using martial arts drills & techniques.
